Help & FAQ
๐ Welcome to Code Pathway
Need a hand? You're in the right place.
Here you'll find answers to common questions about Code Pathway, lessons, the Playground, HTML, and Python.
๐ Getting Started
How do I start learning?
Go to the Lessons page and choose a course. If you're completely new to coding, start with the first lesson and work through the course in order.
Do I need coding experience?
No! Code Pathway is designed to help beginners learn the fundamentals step by step.
What can I learn?
Code Pathway currently offers courses in:
๐ HTML
๐ Python
More courses may be added in the future.
How long does each lesson take?
It depends on the lesson and how quickly you work through the examples. Take your time and make sure you understand each topic before moving on.
๐ Lessons
Do I have to complete the lessons in order?
We recommend following them in order because later lessons may build on things you've learned earlier.
Can I go back to an earlier lesson?
Yes! You can revisit previous lessons whenever you want.
What if I don't understand a lesson?
That's completely normal. Try reading the explanation again, then experiment with the examples yourself.
You can also take a break and come back to it later. Coding takes practice!
What if my code doesn't work?
Don't immediately assume you've done everything wrong. ๐ญ
Check:
Spelling
Capital letters
Brackets
Quotation marks
Punctuation
Missing or extra characters
One tiny mistake can stop code from working.
๐งช Playground
What is the Playground?
The Playground is a place where you can experiment with code and see what happens.
It's designed to help you practise what you've learned in the lessons.
Why should I use the Playground?
Because reading about coding isn't enough.
Try changing the code, run it, see what happens, and experiment with your own ideas.
I changed something and now it doesn't work!
Don't worry!
Compare your code with the original example and look for what changed. If necessary, start again from the working example and make your changes one at a time.
๐ HTML
What is HTML?
HTML stands for HyperText Markup Language.
It's used to structure content on webpages, including headings, paragraphs, images, links, and more.
Is HTML a programming language?
Technically, HTML is a markup language, not a programming language.
However, learning HTML is an important first step towards understanding how websites are built.
What can I make with HTML?
You can create webpages containing things like:
Headings
Text
Images
Links
Lists
Buttons
Forms
And much more!
๐ Python
What is Python?
Python is a popular programming language used for many different things, including programs, automation, websites, data, and more.
Is Python difficult?
Python is often considered beginner-friendly, but that doesn't mean everything will be easy immediately.
The best way to improve is to write code, experiment, make mistakes, and keep trying.
Do I need to install Python?
Follow the instructions provided with the relevant Code Pathway lessons and playgrounds.
